Categories & Tags

Organize your posts with categories and tags so readers can find and browse your content by topic.

Organizing your content

Categories and tags help readers find what interests them as your blog grows.

Categories

Categories are the broad topics your content falls under — the main sections of your blog.

In the post editor, use the Category field to assign a category. Type a new name to create one, or select an existing category. Each post can have one category.

Keep your category list short — 3 to 7 categories is ideal.

Tags

Tags are specific labels for themes that span multiple categories. A post can have multiple tags.

In the post editor, use the Tags field to add tags. When a reader clicks a tag on your blog, they see all posts with that tag.

Best practices

  • Categories for structure — Keep them broad. They define the main sections of your content.
  • Tags for discovery — Be specific. They help readers find related content across categories.
  • Be consistent — Use the same tag names across posts.
  • Don't overdo it — Aim for 2–5 tags per post.
