Categories
Group your posts under categories so readers can browse your blog by topic.
What categories are for
Categories are the broad topics your content falls under — the main sections of your blog. Each post belongs to one category. Readers can filter your blog index by category to find what they're looking for.
Looking for subscriber tags? Tags in Nashra apply to subscribers, not posts. See Managing Subscribers for tagging your audience by source, interest, or behavior.
Assigning a category
In the post settings panel, use the Category field. Type to search existing categories or create a new one on the fly.
Managing categories
From the Posts page, open the category menu to:
- Create, rename, or delete a category
- Choose an emoji and color (used as a visual tag on the blog)
- Bulk-reassign multiple posts to a different category
Best practices
- Keep it short — 3 to 7 categories is ideal. More than that and the structure starts to feel like noise.
- Be broad — Categories define the shape of your blog. Save the specifics for the post itself.
- Stay consistent — Pick a naming style (sentence case, lower case) and stick with it.
- Reorganize without fear — You can bulk-move posts between categories at any time.
